The Card for Any Reason

contributed by Inkylin

By simply changing the background piece, by changing the word stamp, by changing the position of the strip, or changing the color, you can create any number of quick cards. By changing the position of the fold you can also create different looking cards. There is really no limit to the different cards you can make using this idea.

Ingredients:

  • A2 Card 4 ¼ " x 5 ½"
  • Background layer 3 ¾" x 5" printed or stamped
  • Card stock strip 1 ¼" x either 5 ½" or 4 ¼"
  • Word punched from punch or cut approximately 2" x 1"
  • 3 color coordinated brads
  • Other embellishments if desired
Recipe:
  • Attach the background layer to the folded card
  • Choose whether the card will fold at the top or fold at the left
  • With the strip going from edge to edge, decide if you want your strip to be vertical or horizontal and choose the size to correspond to the direction of the folded card
  • Place the card stock strip, vertical or horizontal, up, down, left, or right onto the card to decide placement
  • Before attaching the strip decide where you want to place your brads and attach them to just your card stock strip
  • Now attach the strip, with the brads attached, to the card
  • Pick out your word or saying stamp that goes with your theme
  • Stamp this onto a matching piece of card stock and punch or cut out
  • Attach this word piece to the card with foam tape
  • Add embellishments as desired
