Stamp image onto the slide using StazOn black ink. Heat set or allow to dry.
You can add color to your stamped image but I prefer to use background paper that I did polished stone on. To be truthful I have not had much luck adding color to an image stamped on glass. Either it does not cover completely or does not dry or has a reaction to the StazOn ink.
Cut your background piece to the same size as your slide.
Apply the glossy accents to the background piece and spread it around just to the edges. Take the inked slide, stamped side down, and gently place it on the glossy accents covered background piece. You will have a wee bit of time to mush this into the glossy accents before suddenly it will be adhered. This should give you just enough time to push the glossy accents around and remove air bubbles. Remove excess glossy accents from around the edges and let dry completely.
Starting at the bottom of your slide, start applying the ¼” double-sided extra tacky tape, centering the slide on the tape. Go completely around the entire slide and finish off by butting the tapes edges together. You can also use foil tape if desired. This will have to be burnished down well with the bone folder.
Now you need to burnish the tape on both sides before removing the backing from the tape. Use the bone folder or your finger and burnish both sides down as well as the corners.
Carefully remove the backing from the tape and now apply your glitter or beads. I place the glitter or beads in a shallow container and push the slide into the contents of the container. Make sure you press the glitter or beads completely into the tape and then gently remove any excess.
You can also add embellishments to the top of your piece at this point.
Attach your pin back.
